In this podcast, Mojca Markizeti, a member of the Chapter Zero Slovenia working group, talks to Karina Litvack, Ambassador and Founding Chairman of the Climate Governance Initiative, about the first four climate governance principles that guide companies in tackling climate change:
While corporate attention to climate change is on the rise due to disclosure, regulatory, and investor trends, many boards are struggling to tackle related risks and opportunities holistically. Recognizing this gap, these principles offer a solid foundation for companies seeking effective climate governance. They encourage board discussions on climate competence, leading to informed investment decisions, systemic thinking, and integrated business strategies that consider climate impacts both short and long-term.
Together, Karina and Mojca explore the crucial role that climate governance plays in guiding companies towards sustainable practices. They discuss a set of climate governance principles that serve as a roadmap for companies seeking to align their strategies with sustainability goals and drive positive change. From strategic integration and incentivization to reporting and disclosure, as well as fostering exchange and collaboration, the conversation uncovers the key pillars of effective climate governance.
